HISTORY:
(Bullet points for now, will be fleshed out later)
- Born in Chicago to a wealthy family
- Once the rebellious phase kicked in in his teens it never really ended
- Got involved in black market/professional theft rings
- Moved to CA briefly to pursue more "lucrative" targets
- Eventually became exclusively employed by a wealthy woman in NYC who collects magical artifacts
- Ended up in New Orleans doing a job at a voodoo museum that went south, & had to run from the police. Hid in a French Quarter church and stumbled on a gathering in its basement...
- Wound up becoming a member of the group, originally as a con, until he started getting interested in the practice
- More details on this are forthcoming (I have to type up his actual journal), but he eventually ends up being hexed by one of the members of the group, so that he can't draw power himself - someone else has to do it for him.
- Fortunately, he's also picked up the ability to walk through other people's dreams. Think "Inception" but less sleeping drugs and minus the danger of actually dying while in someone else's head.
PERSONALITY:
- Snarky hardass bastard, trending slowly but surely toward Diamond in the Rough the longer he stays in The Quarter with decent people.
- Easy-going for the most part, but with a quick, hot temper
- Has an amazing bullshit radar, because a con knows a con
- Ridiculously smooth liar, to the point where sometimes he doesn't even think before doing it. Obviously this sometimes Leads To Problems. Oops.
IDEAL SETTINGS/CANONS OF ORIGIN:
- Modern w/ magic or sci-fi, though he'd fit decently with straight procedural drama, too. Already has a slight AU where his history dovetails into the world of SciFi's "The Invisible Man", where he was Darien Fawkes' robbery partner for a while.
